Worked on HSPUs today. Used a step bench as bottom of ROM (~4" above floor). Did 5 sets of 3. Thought they would be harder, but I guess the 30d. negative challenge paid off.
Then did flat bench - 135x5, 155x5, 185x3, 185x3, 185x2 (ugh...), followed by 3x8 close-grip bench at 135.
3 sets of 20 decline sit ups w/ 45lb. plate.

Sam - I went 4" because 10.16 cm sounds too high...
Seriously, the partial ROM was part of my planned progression. I was not able to do a full HSPU before the 30-day challenge. This was the next step after the negatives. These went much better than expected, and plan to do full ROM, head to floor next time. HSPUs on parallettes in a few months, and maybe some day on the rings.
I hope you show me one when you are in Raleigh! I think we should try to go to my gym. Or we can use the basement.
