OK - reps by sets. I love pink - so I can be pink-o.
OH Press
7 x 3 45 lb
Sam thinks I should set an OH press goal. This is where I am starting. Where should I go? 60#?
So my birthday goal is a pull-up goal of 7 and an OH press goal of 60#.
Climbing gym tonight.

I decided to keep my red-blooded, mom-and-apple pie sets by reps scheme.
But that's 3 sets of 7 correct? If you haven;t OHP a lot before and are going to work on it a lot I think 75 is more challenging yet possible (recall you set your DL goal at 100).
Yes - 3 sets of 7. Now I don't know how to go. I like pie and pink. Perhaps I'll just write it out each time.
OK. I'll set my goal for 75.
sam - you get your way with everything else. Can't you concede on this one point? Leaving sets as last makes sense because sometimes you only do one set, so you just leave off sets, see?
How do I get my way on everything else? I'm married to Christine.
I was switching but then I thought I've been doing it this way for literally decades.
I will meet you 1/2way though. Instead of weight x reps for single sets I'll do reps@weight
i do weight x reps for single sets though...
i always do weight x reps x sets
i'll change if you want. sigh.
K-ron - if you can do 7 reps w/45, my money says you can probably already do a single w/60.
Had a revelation on OH press on Monday working with Jason (a SoreCorps WO buddy). I watched him move thru a sticking point at forehead level by driving his head and torso forward. I was able to PR after applying this (correct) technique. Didn't realize I wasn't doing it until watching someone else do it right.
Yeah, I noticed when we did the CFT that he does that very well. Do you think this is something he's worked on or a carryover from something else?
I believe he has spent a good amount of time studying the videos on xfit (and subscribed to the journal), and always includes barbell and oly technique in his warm up.
