v. impressive on squat. Question - thought the 20-squat workout is supposed to be stand alone (not combined with anything else?)

Not necessarily, they often have pullovers or something along with it. As long as it's low reps and not too much. Different systems are taxed.
Also, my recovery from heavy lifting is fairly well established.

Our earlier exchange was that you were adding way too much to it including CF metcon workouts which are a definite no-no.
