Thanksgiving Goals

7 weeks to Thanksgiving - the start of the season when we all get fat. So let's set a goal or two to try and meet by Thanksgiving. We'll post them all in one post and work our butts off to meet them. Since we're all super-hard core athletes, let's avoid the typical "Oh, I'm going to lose 12 lbs." or "My goal is to fit into my skinny jeans" crap that passes for valid goals to mere mortals.

8 minute mile
200 lb deadlift

My high school reunion is the day after Thanksgiving so I have a bit more motivation this season to not plump up.

5 dead-hang pull-ups in a row, no stepping on the ground.

And one more thing - maybe Melanie should decide what it is.

Sounds good. I might be able to do that now. I have done 90.

Chris - "OK, my Thanksgiving goal is to squat 290"
Me - "What are you working out with now?"
Chris - "275x3"
Me - "Then why the hell is 290 your goal after 7 weeks of working on it? You can do that now!"
Chris - "300?"

Now Karen, if you can do 90 now, maybe 110 or 120 after 7 weeks of working to improve it may be a better goal.
