Ran three miles. A very, very slow 36:55.
I got the cramp again at the beginning of mile 2 but heard my dear husband's voice in my head saying, "You can keep running through cramps, you don't have to stop." I gave him a crazy, irritated, some might say incensed look when he said that to me the first time, but turns out he was right. As usual. I kept going and it sucked but did not in fact kill me. One other note: had to run this morning in my beautiful but ill-suited to running red Italian race car Pumas because I left my running shoes at work.

Great job.
I always get a bit of a letdown at mile 2 - for me, it's when I have used up all my blood sugar and I am waiting for the glycogen to kick in. I can feel it about 5-7 minutes later, and I always have lots of energy then to finish my run and even take an extra lap.
Thanks again for turning me on to this, Melanie. I feel great. I am going to have a fabulous sixpack. I bet your pumas made you look like a rock star.
What's mile 2?
Sam, that's the 2nd part of 3 segments of the 5K you're going to run in the very near future...
Mel - please edit "as usual" to every once in a while. Glad you stuck it out. The "stitch" is a weird thing. No harm is occurring, but it sure makes you want to stop.
if i edited following your direction though, wouldn't it further confirm that you are always right?
